Spring Lake Sports League
Parents' Code of Ethics
- I pledge to use positive encouragement and limit my comments during the game to encouraging my child and other players for both teams.
- I will demonstrate good sportsmanship and show respect for all involved in the game including coaches, players, opponents, opposing fans, and officials.
- I will not argue with the umpires, referees, any game officials, or coaches. Nor will I make negative or taunting comments or use profanity directed toward the opposing team or game officials.
- I will get my child to practices and games on time. I will be on time to pick up my child from all games and practices. I will notify the coach if my child will miss a game or practice.
- I will not use drugs, tobacco or alcohol at any Spring Lake Sports League event.
- I will support my child's coach. If I think my child's coach is not handling a situation well, I will seek a meeting with the coach. If I wish to discuss a particular incident, I will wait at least twenty-four hours before calling the coach so that it will be easier to remain calm and respectful.
