Lincolnshire Sports Association Fall 2011 Soccer
Welcome to fall recreational (formally "house") soccer!
The House Recreational Soccer league is open to players age 4 through 8th grade. The goal of the recreational soccer program is to give young soccer players an introductory understanding of the game of soccer, in an upbeat, organized, fun and instructional training setting. In developing players, Lincolnshire Sports Association recognizes that young athletes have varying levels of experience and exposure to soccer. The recreational program is dedicated to developing all aspects of the game and the player. This is accomplished through a combination of parent-coach led teams combined with professional instruction. Practices take place one day a week, Tuesday through Thursday, and games take place Friday through Sunday. Please see the detailed information for age/gender specific times.
In our continuing quest to improve the program, we have made some important changes for this year, including:
- The introduction of a 3v3 micro soccer for those pre-k players in their last year before kindergarten
- The move of the 1st grade players from micro soccer to a small field 6v6 game
- The modification of the professionally led practice sessions (academy) from every week to every other week, with the alternating sessions led by parent-coaches
- The introduction of a new director of the professionally led (academy) training sessions
Each professionally led training session will be spent learning a variety of basic soccer fundamentals (i.e. dribbling, passing and shooting). These sessions will also include some small sided games with an emphasis on basic positioning, teamwork and strategy. The players will be given the opportunity to apply what they have been learning in league games on the weekends. To keep these sessions more manageable, we have grouped the teams by age, and because of the alternating schedule, we will never have more than 4 teams at the sessions at one time.
